Summary

Dirt 3 is a rally racing game. Just like expected, most time is spent in races which, at least in most scenarios, are set in offroad environments. The main difference to other racing events is, that the player drives not alone, but has a front-seat passenger with him, who announces when to turn. The game features overall 98 courses, but some of those are just variations of the same. Also on board is the iconic ability to turn back time after screwing up. In contrast to Dirt 2, in this installment there are other playing modes than the career available, e.g. a single race. But the career is still the heart of the game; here the player tunes his car, participates in races and earns experience points, which are used to unlock new cars. There are six different race modes to solve during the career; e.g. regular races and "trailblazer" (no passenger available). Two of those are newly introduced: drift tournaments and Gymkhana, which are basically confined areas with a lot of stunt opportunities - the goal is to perform as many as possible in a limited time. Additionally every mode has special tricky bonus goals which reward more experience when fulfilled.

At the time I 100% first 2 Dirt games, playing the 3rd,started to feel fatique kicking in middle way through. It was still a good game.Driving and handling was smooth,I love how they added Gymkhana and improved drifting as well.Loved those events, once you master it you feel like Ken Block himself. It kinda felt weird because I remember beating this game and couple of months after that Ken died.I will keep playing this game at some point in honor of the legend.Cars were pretty good, maps can be a bit repetitive later on,and outside of Gymkhana you still have the same race types from previous games. My only complain has to be that there was no story.Any type would work, there wasn't any in 1 or 2,they could have at least tried to focus on that for change. Also the soundtrack for the most part was dope.So many interesting bands I never heard of,and I marked when Isolation song from Alter Bridge played. It was a pretty good entry, and this is where Dirt franchise started to go downhill from here.I would recommend it if you like Rally games

It's fun and looks very good but it's so repetitive, plus the cringe narration and gynkhama stages all the time. Also they copied tracks from 2

Amazing game with visuals that pushed limits when it was new.

Still great and on PC you can buy it for super cheap...like $3-4 cheap. Dirt 2 and 3 were excellent games and should be checked out by racing fans.

This is more arcade than sim, something they did when McRae died and they changed the series name. Of course some dirt games are more arcade while others are very sim like or straight up sims.

This one leans arcade but has enough sim roots to please both sides and it works fairly well with my fanatec rig.
