Summary

Dino Crisis is a survival horror video game developed originally for the PlayStation console. It is the first installment in the Dino Crisis series and was created by the same team behind the Resident Evil games. Instead of the pre-rendered backgrounds of the Resident Evil games that preceded it, Dino Crisis uses an original real-time engine with 3D environments. Gameplay features traditional survival horror mechanics including action and puzzles, and it was developed to have more consistent visceral terror with the dinosaurs being quick, intelligent, and violent. There are four possible endings based on choices made by the player during the game.

This was the very first horror game I had the courage to play and I was so proud of myself for beating it!

Took me so long to beat that damned T-Rex in the first encounter though.

Ps. Regina deserves more love Capcom!!!

God I want a remaster of this so badly. The ultimate blend of dinosaurs, mad science research facility, and Resident Evil vibes.

Dino Crisis is Resident Evil with dinosaurs, I bet you have heard that phrase a lot of time for other games in a negative sense, but in case of Dino Crisis, this comparison could not be more positive. In fact, with it tougher enemies, limited resources, mind boggling puzzles, and respawning enemies, it will test the survival horror skills of even the most of veteran of RE players. The puzzle and cryptic nature sometimes slow down the fun a little and the sound mixing is not as great as RE, but overall, if you had fun with the ps1 RE titles, then, you will have fun with this game as well.
Pro Tip: For the final T-rex boss fight, please keep some grenade ammo preserve, though in case you don't, don't worry, Rick will toss you some. To get the secret ending where both Kirk is caught and Gail survives, choose either Rick's choice or Gail's choice (I will prefer Rick, because then you won't have to backtrack to save Gail) and instead of going to marked locations, go to central hallway and open Level A card door and then take the horizontal elevator and reach the helipad. Also, Green boxes are for health items, Red for ammo, and Yellow for both, and if you have previously similar colored box open, you can access its content again by going to the access menu and choosing another location.

Anyway, this game is as worth as any PS1 RE game. Not as perfect and definitely on the shorter side, but it is an adventure worth taking.
