I'm not good at fighting games, like, at all. The only game of genre I can get good at quickly is Super Smash Bros., which I find to be way more accessible and enjoyable than any other fighting game, but someone who's much more into them would probably kill me if I try to compare any of the classics to Smash Bros.

That said, I still enjoy trying them out from time to time. So this time, I wanted to try Dead or Alive, which was to me a much more obscure series than any other one I've ever tried. I didn't even really know what I was going into, honestly, but surprisingly it's just... A normal fighting game. A rather plain one, to be honest.

I'm not going to make an in-depth review or something like that, as I honestly didn't spend much time on this game. It Just didn't click with me; not because Is bad, but It just didn't tell me anything other games such as Tekken or Virtua Fighters did.
Giving that this game takes great inspiration from those two, there's nothing really new here aside from a much simpler input system, which I appreciated but also find extremely plain, to the point where no attacks really matter over another unless it's done as fast as possibile. I'm usually not good at remembering combos, and such a basic combat system didn't really made me improve over that.
Characters are visually boring, some of them resemble characters from other series way too much (when I first saw the old man, I said out loud "Wait, isn't this guy in Virtua Fighter?). I just remember Kasumi, as she's the poster girl, Tina (as she's the cutest one so far) and the dude from Ninja Gaiden who's here for... Reasons.
Graphics are good, but the stages are even more plain than Tekken 1's ones... And for some reason, my copy of the game has no soundtrack? Like, there are just sound effects, no OSTs. So you can understand why I grew up tired of playing pretty quickly.

Oh yeah, there's the breasts physics... Pretty funny, if you ask me. Didn't even tought the PS1 could do such things. If It really bothers you, you can turn it off, but really it's probably the most memorable thing about this game so far.

It's by no means a bad game, it's just... By 1998, there were already a LOT of fighting games on the market (Street Fighter, Tekken, Virtua Fighters, Dynasty Warriors, Mortal Kombat), so why would you choose this one over any other that came out before and play and look way better?
