Castlevania Advance Collection

I believe Circle of the moon to be the best game in this collection. It's map and level design is the best by far. The enemies are really cool here. The Dss system is also really sick and unique, and although it can be a little annoying to grind for every card, it isn't as bad as another game here (looking at you aria of sorrow). The combinations are also really cool and useful. It's by far the best all around game. Harmony of dissonance is my second favorite here. It's a lot more basic and traditional with no special mechanics like the dss or souls from aria of sorrow. Although having 2 of the same map can become a little repetitive and annoying, I found it extremely satisfying seeing the colours of the maps overlap as you collect everything and get a special 200% completion. It's the game that takes the least risks, so it doesn't reach highs like circle of the moon, but also doesn't have the lows of aria of sorrow. Now aria of sorrow, easily the game I have the most issues with. It's highs are so high that it kept it from a 7, but it's lows are seriously low. For starters the map is the worst here in my opinion, it's the most tedious to backtrack around. I also really dislike the elimination of hp and mp level upgrades here, taking away a huge part of the progression. But, the weapon system here is absolutely incredible, allowing you to play the game with your preferred playstyle, which is super nice. The story here is also actually incredible and so much better than the other ones. It really was amazing in the end. Now the absolutely worst thing ever, the soul system. I genuinely cannot stand it, I grinded for all of them, and it just sucked. Out of 112 souls, you will be begging the game to show you mercy for 30 of them at least, just killing them over and over trying to get the soul for 15+ minutes. Don't have this discourage you from playing this, but it's a chore and a half. Dracula X is a short experience and a nice change of pace, definitely worth a play. The rewind function is also very useful for all games, especially soul hunting in aria of sorrow (looking at you skybird). Definitely the best way to play these incredible games
