Summary

Alan Wake's American Nightmare is a standalone expansion to the psychological horror action-adventure game Alan Wake, developed by Remedy Entertainment. The story shifts to an alternate reality where Alan Wake finds himself in a small Arizona town. Here, he faces off against his evil doppelgänger, Mr. Scratch, a murderous entity intent on destroying everything Alan holds dear. The gameplay involves exploring the town, battling new and familiar supernatural enemies, and uncovering pieces of the narrative through manuscripts and other clues. The expansion introduces new weapons and combat mechanics while maintaining the series' focus on the use of light to combat darkness. The narrative explores themes of duality and reality, offering a more action-oriented experience compared to the original game.

The story telling is good as the og alan wake it’s kinda of wired kind of rougelike game with 3 chapters that repeats itself in a good way, if we think about this game as dlc it’s good but as a stand alone game it’s not bad 🤙🏽

Alan Wake American nightmare review:
Writer Alan Wake is trapped inside the story "Night springs", which he wrote himself with his evil version, Mr. Scratch and tries to get out of it, but he prevents him by using monsters of darkness (taken).

The story has a kind of distraction and some events are weakly connected, but you can understand it more if you collect the scattered pages in the game The graphics are excellent, there are no problems with the framerate or lighting. level is good, even if you play it more than once, the bad point is the lack of enemies and bosses, but its OK for a DLC.

the gameplay is a third person shooter with simple elements of horror, it has an excellent variety of weapons making the game a bit easy , there are multiple checkpoints, the puzzles will not take you more than a minute to solve.

The story mode is short, over 6 hours, and is in arcade mode for fans of high score and achievement. --------------------

Conclusion: an interesting and excellent game. enhanced on xsx.
I advise everyone to buy it, its price is 10 dollars and it is exclusive to the xbox 360

My final rating: 8.5/10

I love Alan wake and Remedy's universe
But what the hell was this 😐?
Yeah, gameplay maybe is better than the main game.
But on the other side unfinished dialogue, story and characters.

The fight against Mr. Scratch reaches an end...or not?
In Night Springs everything can be real...or a dream.

It brings closure to Alan Wake's story, but feels like a DLC rather than a standalone game.
