Summary

The Stanley Parable is a first-person exploration game which ponders questions related to player agency, narrative pacing, escapism through gaming, objective-driven game design, authorial intent, and the conflict of interest between players and game creators.

The Stanley Parable is simply put a bizarre game. Trying it for the first time I had no idea what it was about or what I was getting into, and I admit after hours of different playthroughs it's still hard to fully describe my experience. The Stanley Parable is a narrative style exploration game (brilliantly narrated by Kevan Brighting) that relies on the players decisions and choices. It doesn't follow other games in a traditional sense and for that it cannot be reviewed in a traditional way. It is is one of the smartest and most thought provoking games I've ever experienced. The Stanley Parable is more of an experience and there is no "True" way to play it. There where certain moments I was genuinely laughing and other moments where I was confused, surprised or even somehow terrified. There is so much emotions you could feel playing through this game which is remarkable and I definetly recommend trying it without looking it up because the less you know about this game the better your experience will turn out to be.
