While over the years, some have stated (myself included) that the game was too easy and runs felt too easily broken, this DLC completely flipped the way we felt about it.
I remember back when it just came out, I went from finishing like 90% of my runs to not being able to even get to the second boss. The DLC feels brutal, unforgiving and most of all takes you on a Rollercoaster of emotions.
But I've learned, I've adapted. Nowadays, I'm super happy for the new content this DLC adds. It changed the game's meta in a way that it desperately needed, and adds so much new content that it feels like replaying the game from scratch.
For someone like me who spent hundreds of hours with the base game, this was more than welcome.
Now I can't even imagine playing the game without this DLC included. It feels like a must, it feels like it wouldn't be right. The addition of so many levels, so many options and the guaranteed angel room is something I can not do without anymore. If you own TBOI and are considering purchasing this DLC, I absolutely recommend you do. It's absolutely amazing.

Isaac is the best Roguelite of all time and I will box any one on that claim. I hate this game but I also love this game. I think most Isaac fans feel the same way. This game will make you angry and happy at the same time. It will disappoint you. It will make you mad. But it’s all worth it when you finally beat that first run with a broken Brimstone + Hemolacria build 😂
All memes aside, this game is great. Very nice gameplay, infinite replayability, very nice storytelling, and a lot of cool mechanics to keep things fresh. The mod community only makes this game even more crazy. And they’re adding multiplayer soon? Say less!
The synergy of items is much more better and complicated than any other roguelike game, I still ruin my run sometimes because of getting terrible item that I have no idea of?
Infinite amount of content which I will likely never be able to fully see?
The story and art style is not my thing but they are ok.
