This remake as a whole is... weird to say the least
I hate the new physics cause now when I hit a normal block it makes Mario come to a stop instead of going straight down
The new artwork too is weird
Like things like Mario and the enemies and the castle look awesome but the background especially for the green plains are wayyyy to simple and don't mesh well with the other sprites
All that makes all the games in this remake get 2 less points then their original

It's better than it is bad but the game's design is constantly fighting the way Mario controls. He picks up speed too quickly and he retains momentum from his run (but for some reason he has no inertia?) Combine this with precision jumps in the last quarter of the game and you'll really start to feel like the level designers hadn't actually ever felt how Mario controlled. Extremely frustrating combination.
