Your new life begins in Forgotten Valley, a tranquil community where your father and his friend Takakura once dreamed of running a farm. I’m not too happy with the art direction in this. Everything is cutesy and cookie-cutter to the style from the last Story of Seasons. It somehow looks worse than the original GameCube game and wayyy less charismatic. The townsfolk are still the same people I remember, but they’ve all lost what made them special. Especially Martin, Muffy, and Cody. I remember absolutely loving Cody as a child and not only is his name “Gordy” now, but they stripped him of all his unique appearance traits. Now he looks like a weird white man with dark skin, blond hair and purple eyes. Like oh brother they fucked up on him. Only character I like the new design for is Pui (or Murrey from the original).
I haven’t gotten married yet, hell I’m not even past summer. While I am having fun & enjoying myself playing this, I feel like it’s mostly for nostalgia of the original. If you’re thinking of buying, considering just playing the original. It’s miles above this. The only positives that really stand out are the character creation and same-sex marriage.

I loved this game as a kid, but never beat it due to what I thought was a short attention span. Nope. It's just the game. It's a very very slow game.
What this game needed was some improvements beyond quality of life improvements. Some new mini games, facilities, animals, anything really. It had some of that, but not enough.
Oh and remember how your animals could die in the original game, and cows only produced milk after pregnancy? Yeah that's all gone.
