Summary

Embrace mind-blowing moments as you’re pulled deep into the many worlds of Split Fiction, a boundary-pushing co-op adventure.

So first of all I never got to play It takes two. Nothing against it it's just at the time i had a mentality of I'm way too old for this and felt embarrassed to play it with anyone. However I did play A way out and remember loving it although it does need a revisit. This game made me change my mind about it takes two and I shall visit it soon.

Back to this, one thing I've learned from Hazellight is that they will make an amazing offline co op game, and I've been saying this for years online co op has destroyed offline co op, which to me pisses me off because I did grow up with offline co op. Hopefully with this game resurrecting offline co cop we can get more great content like this we can enjoy with friends or family. Me and my best friend were immediately hooked up to this to a point where 2 grown ass men like us would get told off by his mother to Go eat dinner 😭I even took days off from work to play this and pretended to be sick.

The characters are well written as they are complete opposites of each other, Zoe is friendly and optimistic while Mio is the opposite. Their personality traits clash so well that they blend so effortlessly, getting shoved into this fantasy world they put their differences aside and decide to work with each other thus forming a bond.
This game made it super easy with the controls as they are fairly straight forward. It's beyond action packed and colourful. It feels mesmerising to look at. That grappling hook gave me Ada wong PTSD from seperate ways.😭😭 loved it. All Fantasy worlds change as you transition between Story genres, so that means you'll get different weapons, vehicles and transformations. This makes the gameplay feel unique and gives us some versatility.

Another thing I can appreciate is the fact if you die you don't have to restart the level you just respawn closer than you need to. Another way this uses the co op mechanism well is how you solve your puzzles as you will have to depend on each other to solve a puzzle. Which means you need to use that 1 combined brain cell between you and who you play with. Thankfully tho the puzzles aren't too long or difficult. The platform stuff is also amazing to go through. There are even hidden places where you think that you won't have access to, but you can, making it more fleshed out. There are different ways to move around and this game certainly gives you the freedom to do such stuff. I always appreciate when a game allows you to experiment with the mechanics.

Man there is so much more I want to talk about this game however stash doesn't provide the space to write much lengthier reviews. But this is a must play. Because it is so well designed so well structured, fantastic graphics, mesmerising gameplay and moments that will make you go WOAHHHH WHAT A GAME!!! Defo My Goty as of right now. (Until Bleach lands next week!!!)

Another perfect co-op experience from Hazelight. They brought a new style or should I say a new genre in the industry that we needed the most. Hope they continue the good run and maybe something new in the future.

ITS SO GOOD ITS SO GOOD ITS SO GOOD

The gameplay is really well done, and the animations on the characters faces are beautiful. I don’t exactly love the characters as of now, but they have a good story and some really fun ideas.
