Summary

Shadow the Hedgehog is back with Classic and Modern Sonic in Sonic X Shadow Generations, an all-new collection featuring two unique experiences! Play as Shadow in a brand-new story campaign featuring never-before-seen abilities that prove why he's known as the Ultimate Life Form! Speed through iconic stages from Shadow's history, discover hidden secrets in an expansive hub world, and unlock new powers to take on Black Doom and save the world. Sonic X Shadow Generations also includes a complete remaster of the highly acclaimed Sonic Generations, a time-traveling adventure featuring a greatest-hits collection of 3D and 2D Sonic stages, now with upgraded visuals and new bonus content.

Peak Sonic is back!! This game was truly a redemption to this series! The levels and boss fights are incredible, and I love the high speed thrills I get with the levels.
Definitely a masterpiece, and makes me want to replay Sonic Adventure 2 again.

The Sonic Franchise Leaned me How to live when I was 4 Years old and still does as 23 Years old. It may sound dumb but it has a lot of meaning in it for me. Amazing game. One of the best Sonic games ever.

I love how the developers looked at this deep story about Shadow confronting his past and said, "Big should be one of the characters he interacts with"

I'm going to Review Sonic and Shadow separately to keep it fair.

Sonic part:

- Cons:
- Mechanics can feel wonky, unresponsive even at times
- Characters keep repeating themselves in levels and in the final boss fight it's annoying as hell
- Not clear enough objectives on what to do in certain boss fights
- The "big" boss fights were less fun and felt smaller than the mini ones
- simple design of level picking, should have made it similar to Shadow
- Collectables in levels felt whatever, in Shadow's part they had a purpose in unlocking items
- forgetable Skill Shop

+ Pros:
+ OST, kept the same one as the OG very nostalgic and just uplifting vibes
+ Mini boss fights against characters in the franchise
+ variety in acts (levels) of perspectives of Sonic
+ Fun interactions between characters in the story
+ Collection Room, even tho it's poorly designed compared to Shadows
+ Variety of levels as mentioned also in perspectives

Rating: 7/10

Shadow part:

- Cons:
- 1 or 2 levels towards the end which I felt weren't executed well enough design wise with the ability used for it
- Could have had a more expanded story but I rate it for what it is

+ Pros:
+ Animated Prologue of the story after beating the game
+ OST, my kind of lane with the heavy rock and sinister influence
+ mini open world to travel around with mini games and collectables
+ rewarding variety of abilities after defeating areas
+ variety of challenges
+ Collection Room
+ Fun boss fights with a couple surprising Characters from the franchise
+ Cool Mechanics which made Shadow feel powerful unlike Sonic

Rating: 8.5/10

Overall rating: 7.5, I need a full Shadow game.

Surprisingly made sonic generations seem outdated and boring, all I wanted to do was play Shadow generations instead. Incredibly fun game that provides a lot of value and replayability.

Sonic Generations-5/10, Shadow Generations-8/10. I grew up with Sonic Generations and this replay made me not like it that much, but Shadow Generations rules
