Sonic Mania Plus

Sonic games aren't my favorite as I'm pretty bad at them, but for the time I had with this game I enjoyed it. The graphics are really beautiful and seeing the different zones were really pleasant on the eyes. I wouldn't be the best judge for the gameplay but any sonic fan has already played this. For non sonic fans wanting to try this to get into sonic, I would say don't expect to be amazing right away and keep replaying it and it'll start to make more sense. Definitely a good starting point into the sonic franchise

Best sonic game, also one of the best platforms out there

As somebody who began their Sonic journey when SA2 was popular and started with the Adventures cartoon, I've always had an adoration for the older games but could never enjoy them because I grew up on Nintendo. Most Sega games of the 90s, Sonic included, feel so alien to me. I eventually got the Mega Collection as a child but never made it more than a few levels on each game. I've often revisites them.kvsr the years as well still enjoying them but still being awful.
This collection is one that completely modernizes everything to an extent where I actually really enjoy it. I plowed through each of the remastered edition and it gave me the time and practice needed to blast through the originals as well. I had an.ansoljte blast with this collection and it very greatly improved my experience with these games.
On top of that, if you get Plus, you get an ass load of Game Gear games. Those ones I did grow up with because of Sonic Adventure DX. Playing through all those again was pure nostalgia a d they run better than they have ever run before. Like a warm knife to butter. Fantastic.
Great collection, fin collectibles and challenges on the side. Got yourself a boss rush and a story mode that allows you to just play through all the games in one sitting and that's pretty great.
I love this collection and this will be my children's intro to the og franchise.

It's probably the best sonic game out there, honestly. The franchise as a whole never really clicked with me as i hoped, but, i decided to play through them either way. And oh boy, Mania is the most fun i had so far... ESPECIALLY coming of off sonic 4 right befire it
