Saints Row IV: Re-Elected

I feel like recently I've been on a stretch of games I like to describe as being an actual video game, and this is another time I'm going to use that description. Saints Row lV on the switch is not a perfect game, but it's just damn fun. It doesn't take itself seriously, at all, and the fact that it shows that to you from the jump makes this so good. The story, while not being super crazy in depth, is a fun story that more than offers a bunch of hilarious moments for this type of game. This game genuinely is the funniest game I've ever played right next to Deadpool, and I don't think its a coincidence that Nolan North is the main voice (or an option for the main voice in Saints Row 4) in both games. From crude humour, to actually well written jokes and from funny world building to straight up 4th wall breaking, it's just hilarious from the moment you pick this game up from the moment you put it down. The humour and personality this game has is genuinely the games best quality. The superpowers in this game are also super fun, making you feel super overpowered, while keeping a certain level of difficulty. The shooting is fine, but when you shoot fireballs out of your hands who cares about guns anyways? The open world and the side stuff is hit and miss. All activities are really fun besides 1 specific one that sucks, but there's just a bit too many activities in the world, turning them from fun to tedious towards the end. The biggest weakness is the performance and graphics. Neither is by any means bad, but they're not great. Definitely not a deal-breaker at all, just something that could have added a lot more to the experience. Ultimately, although it's not the prettiest, it can have some minor framerate issues, and the side activities are a bit bloated, you're still left with a super fun game to shoot aliens and laugh all the way through. It's a good time 100% and definitely worth a try. My only real wish was that they included more decision making as the president, the opening to this game might be one of my favorite openings in any game ever, and I'm talking on the likes of Spider-man 2 here, it's so damn funny.

What a classic. Replayed this after playing the original like a decade ago and I have only good things to say about it.
Very unfairly underrated. For a game from 2013. Hilarious humor, a bunch to do and some seriously fun combat. They don't make games like this no more.
Controls, graphics and little tweaks in combat that we now take for granted would have been awesome. But even all that is just a little blemish on a great game. I can see myself replaying this again and again.

A remaster that somehow made a few parts worse. I feel like any graphical updates that were implemented just made everything shiny? The guns look like they belong in Saints Row 2. And to top it off this is one of only two Saints row games I've played that I actually run into constant glitches. Overall it's still fun because it's Saints Row 4 but I'd rather play the other iterations.
