Summary

Rogue Legacy is back! But now it's got a 2 on the end of it! Rogue Legacy 2 is a genealogical rogue-lite. That means it has all the trappings of a typical rogue-like (randomized runs, changing characters, and more), but with persistent upgrades, and persistent dead heirs. In this game, your legacy defines you. Spend your parents’ inheritance and grow the family manor to give your children a better fighting chance. Each child is unique, with their own traits and abilities. Your daughter could be a Ranger. She could also be vegan. It’s a new experience every time. Rogue Legacy 2 also lets you play how you want to. Go hard and fast, and dive deeper into the depths of a randomly-generated world. Or take it slow and steady and build your character up until you’re ready for greater challenges.

It’s good but it wasn’t as addicting as the first one,

I needed to take over one year break because I got so frustrated with the second area that I just couldn't (I really suck at platforming and yes, this was exactly THAT sort of area) but a few days ago I started playing again and well, it really went nicely! Once I got over that area I actually flew through the game! It was so much fun that I really couldn't put it down.

It's the good old Rogue legacy but...bigger? With more stuff to do? More upgrades? More everything? Also everything was Christmas themed during holidays (just if you wanna know 😅) the enemies were having Santa hats or snowflake head, the barrels were presents, the turkey were cookies...it was just awesome (I hate Christmas but this was really nice!)
Except for that break I never felt like I can't defeat or get to the next boss. I was getting back to the castle with determination and I was really enjoying my time there (and if I needed a boost of confidence I just went to the first area and slashed left and right like a superhero 🤣)

Also I realized it only before the final boss but if you're struggling there is an option in settings to set enemies' health and attack to less percentage (or more if you're masochist 🤣) and also if you're like me and you struggle with platforming there is an option to enable flying so you can fly over the platforming sections (wish I knew that before that break 😭)

Really challenging but once you get the hang of it, it becomes a great game

Oh how i loved the first one on my psvita. I think it was one of the first "rogue-lite", or at least i remember the slow progression between runs with permanent upgrades wasn't really a thing when it came out?

Im playing this one once again on portable on a switch, i feel like it will always be the way to play roguelike games. Runs in this game can be pretty short if you're more focused on getting gold for upgrade to your heirs.

The first one has its own charm both in graphics and music, this one seems to be a good step up with the massive amount of of classes and a couple of new mechanics in combat.
This is one i will always come back too even after finishing it.
