Summary
The 1997 Riven: The Sequel to Myst title remade from the ground-up. The remake of Riven features a fully traversable 3D space in both Standard First-Person or in VR.
Atrus asks you to undertake a perilous mission where your success is far from assured. Travel to Riven, a mysterious island-filled land on the verge of collapse, to rescue Atrus’ wife, Catherine. She is being held captive by Gehn, Atrus’ father and the self-declared overlord of Riven. Explore Riven, solve puzzles to reveal its mysteries, find Catherine, and make your escape.

No joke, I waited for this remake since I played the original back in 2007 as a kid. This is such a treat. Almost everything is recreated in the most minute details, which is crazy since the OG game was prerendered and this one is in real time. Musics are still some of the best in gaming history (crazy cos they've been composed by one guy on a keyboard), gameplay is simple and engaging. Some things are changed for the better, giving the game some new puzzles and parts of environment in addition to the fresh coat of paint. I didn't finish it, probably never will, but the fact it exists and that it's in my steam library brings me immense joy. My mother was so happy when I showed it to her, the original being one of her favourite games. So beautiful, makes me travel without leaving my room
