Summary

In the curious village of St. Mystere, townsfolk speak to each other in riddles, lock their doors with sliding puzzles and hide their secrets within brainteasers. When a wealthy baron passes away, his will reveals an elusive treasure hidden someplace inside the village. Now it's up to Professor Layton to untangle St. Mystere's riddles and puzzles, find the hidden treasure, and crack the case.

If you are tired of toxic multiplayer modern games and want to train your brain, then this is great for you. Prof. Layton has great puzzle, great story, and nice artwork. I have spent 18 hours of my time training my brain in these games, and I don't have any regrets about it.

A charming start to a wonderful series. It may be the nostalgia talking, but this game has a feeling like no other.

The game that started one of my favorite series is an enjoyable experience, despite having a terrible pace and some "curious" level curve in the last half of the game.
Some puzzles are way too tricky to find, making the completion of the game way longer than It should be (why the heck would I click on that random pixel in that random street to find a puzzle, without any suggestion or interesting point?).
The plot is predictable and it randomly descend into fantasy into the last chapter despite not showing any sign of a fantasy setting before, but that's fine. Those who were looking for a serious plot would be disappointed, but luckily, it wasn't my case.

Loved the soundtrack and the characters.
St. Mystere and its abitants really feel like an european country village, reminds me of the little town where I grew up.

The story is engaging, the art design gorgeous, the music superb and the puzzles even though it's the first iteration, pretty great.
Really shows how a videogame ends up when love is poured in every single ounce of it.
A true classic of its genre

Fun game with tons of brain teasers. There is an interesting mystery to go along with it.
