Give it a try, Luigi levels are so challenging and even more fun than the base game

New Super Luigi U is a short yet cheerful side game to New Super Mario Bros U. It provides intrigue off the bat - i’ve played the first level at least 5 times in the past only to instantly put it down based on first impressions - but i’ve been pleasantly surprised at the difference of experience it joyfully provides as an alternative to its more traditional base experience. The levels are structured in a 100 second time limit format - though I was only pressured once or twice by this time limit, it creates a sense of background pressure that looms in the background of some excellently designed levels. These levels are crafted with more care in their design that the base game, needing to be structured in a time limit based format clearly made the developers think outside the box and try some different things, and each level offers its own unique touch. Hardly any stages feel like their ideas and design overlap with any of the others, and they feel specially crafted to emphasise on a slightly more difficult approach and and extra layer of passion. Contrary to the general consensus, I didn’t find this game very difficult. I went in expecting to have moments of struggle, but besides a few levels needing a handful of attempts, this was quite a breeze, though maybe that comes from my prior experience with the NSMB series. Still, I did admittedly find this easier than both World and NSMBDS. New Super Luigi U is a brief encounter, though if you’re looking for the most bang-for-your-buck experience from the New Super Mario Bros series, this might just be its best offering next to the DS counterpart.

Even though it's short, I really liked the challenge this game gives.
