This may be the first video game I ever played. It's either this or Wave Race 64. Either way, no amount of nostalgia can mask that this is definitively subpar to the original. Too much RNG coupled with (arguably) less interesting boards and significantly less fun mini-games. It was still nice to hold a N64 controller again. ❤️ Also the music in Pirate Land BOPS.

This is what introduced me to video games so it has a very special place in my heart. I still think this and MP3 are the best in the series (although I will admit I've only played up to 7 so take that with a grain of salt) for their premises and mini-games!
