Mages of Mystralia

I believe this is a very good game it just simply didn't click with me.

The combat is very basic even tho you have multiple spells you can use...sadly the spells miss that bizzaz that makes spells spells. You have basic one that really is just smacking with your staff...not even the fire one was fun to use as it's simple fireball (more like orange orb...) that stays in one place...

The path finding is a mess. The maps themselves are every linear but there is so many roads to take...I honestly got lost in five minutes and it wasn't the nice 'oh my what a beautiful butterfly let's follow it and maybe find some treasure along the way!' it was more like 'where the flip am I? Where the flip is the main quest? Let's jump into the water and die because I can't be bothered...'

There were also light puzzles consisting of aligning beams. Those puzzles sometimes opened chests or paths. It was nice and refreshing from my constant sense of being lost.

The story seemed interesting tho the characters were mostly annoying. Your mentor is a jerk and you're a girl that doesn't really question anything and simply follows what the jerk tells her.

What I appreciated was the nice opening cutscenes! It had a very nice graphical style (same as the whole game really) buuuut sadly it had no voice/music for some reason...

Despite all of this this is definitely a good game, I can tell...it just isn't for me....
