Summary

Uncover one of history’s greatest mysteries in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, a first-person, single-player adventure set between the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade. You’ll become the legendary archaeologist in this cinematic action-adventure game from MachineGames, the award-winning studio behind the recent Wolfenstein series, and executive produced by Hall of Fame game designer Todd Howard.

A different game from Machine games and a worthy one, there are some little flaws but still a must play game. Dialoges are fun and like the movie it feels 80s movies, if you a fan of indiana jones or like exploring ancient places you should give it a try.
Graphic 9/10
Gameplay 9/10

Sound 9/10

I love Indiana Jones a.k.a. Dr. Henry Jones Jr. (Indiana was the dog's name). It's a shame they only made 3 movies about him.
John Wick is getting a 5th movie soon.
Ethan Hunt's 8th movie just came out.
James Bond has had 27 movies.
27 JAMES BOND MOVIES.
So it's strange that Indiana Jones hasn't had a new movie since 1989, but you have to admire the restraint from Lucasfilm to not sell the rights to some soulless, greedy company who would shit out some crap with Indy's name attached to it for a quick buck…

Anyways, a new Indiana Jones adventure was long overdue and this game was the perfect way to tell it. The story is wisely set in between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade when Indy was still in his prime. His character model looks great and no CGI to de-age Harrison Ford was needed this time. Who would want to watch a story about Indiana Jones as a 80 year old man? Can you imagine?
Troy Baker absolutely nails Harrison Ford’s voice too to the point where I often forgot I was playing a game and not watching a live action movie starring Harrison Ford himself. The writing is on point as well; Indy's love interest is exactly his type - bossy and annoying, just like in the movies - and the villain is deliciously evil. The graphics look more real than real life and I found time quickly slipping away as I became immersed in this world. Although, the editing in the cutscenes can be awkward at times, especially in regards to audio and lip syncing, which was a bit distracting but not enough to ruin the fun story.

Gameplay wise, it wasn't what I was expecting. I assumed the developers of Wolfenstein would make something that involved a lot more Nazi killing, but instead they made something that perfectly captures the tone of the movies. Indy does kill fascists on occasion, but he mainly knocks them out in comical fashion - this version of Indy uses more makeshift weapons than Jason Bourne. Most of the time Indy will be taking photos, sneaking around in disguises to find priceless artifacts that belong in a museum and solving puzzles to raid tombs. While I did appreciate the slower and smarter style of gameplay, my inner B.J. Blachowicz would often crave Nazi heads floating in rivers of their blood. Sometimes what I want isn't what I need.

They could’ve easily made a similar game to Uncharted or Tomb Raider and most people would probably be content. Instead they took a risk and made something that feels very unique. It has more in common with Dishonored or Zelda if anything, but even that doesn't properly describe it. It's not always super exciting and can be a bit repetitive at times, but it's different, refreshing, incredibly detailed, faithful to the source material, and definitely worth checking out.
I would very much like Wolfenstein III, but I would also like all of my favourite movies to have video game adaptations that are this good. The bar has been set impossibly high for 007 First Light.

Platinum Nr. 42.

A true highlight of this game is it being better than the last two movies with ease.

First of all I want to say that Troy Baker did a truly amazing job with the voice acting, he sounds exactly like Harrison Ford, it's great.

Starting the game with the opening of the first film? I LOVE IT! The real story itself begins so strong and I immediately felt like I was in the world of Indiana Jones, no joke. Playing in those surroundings as the legend, is just that good of an experience. Most things felt so right, it's like a real sequel.

There are a total of 7 maps and most of them were fun to explore and collect. Without spoiling the maps, my favorite is for sure the 2nd one, but the 3rd and 5th one are close.

I'm glad I finally got to play this. 8/10
