Played on: Playstation 4 (Standard)
Version: Playstation 4
Edition: Standard physical

I bought this game BECAUSE it was broken. It looked fucking hilarious & I wanted to experience it for myself & unfortunately it didn't happen. By the time I got to it, it was fixed JUST ENOUGH to where it was just boring. Bland. Fetch quests, grind, etc. You know, all of the fucking bullshit Fallout stuff. Fuck this game. Which by the way it looks like a Playstation 3 title. Fuck this.

A critical failure on launch, I played post launch but didn't really think much of it. Initially I liked the slightly different UI to Fallout 4, and the new perk card system but that was about it. I just stopped playing after that because there was nothing to do, the open world was bland at the time.

However, in 2024. I can confidently say that this game is not the same game it was at launch. Bethesda deserve credit for pulling this back into a somewhat decent Fallout. I can't believe that this is the same title that launched back in 2018. I have had a lot of fun revisiting this and playing through what it has to offer, it still has those 'Bethesda bugs.'

There are several questlines now, factions, great rewards. NPCs across apalachia, events, seasons that are full of rewards you can earn by playing, DLCs are all free and this game is likely going to be receiving content for a long while. In 2024, it's absolutely excellent. There is so much content to playthrough now.

I'd recommend this. If you're someone who was disappointed by this at launch or a new player. Now will be the perfect time to jump in and give it a shot, playing with a friend is recommended from me. It really is just Fallout 4 with a new skin and multiplayer but you'll most likely enjoy it.

It's player count passed over 20 million a short while ago, the Fallout show is definitely a big reason for that. This can be a grind, and it might not be the greatest Fallout ever, however it is a lot of fun and it is levels ahead of what it was, give it a try.

Although this game still has a horrible reputation and still has a lot of problems I had a blast playing it. Gonna get the bed over with first. Ok so the bugs. Bethesda and they're damn bugs lmao. For the most part the bugs were harmless but some of then were so godamn annoying they were borderline gamebreaking. Sometimes when I wanted to hop into my power armour the game would just break. I would get stuck and couldn't move. Couldn't fast travel, open pip boy, and the only solution was to leave the server and rejoin. I would sometimes get stuck on doorways and random hallways when I interacted in atuff, only in power armour. Whenever I wanted to craft, and modify power armour. Game eouldnt let me do anything I would just he stuck there.fucking stupid ass glitches mainly with power armour or npcs just not responding to me and would just stand there. Only solution so all of these was restart game or leave server and region. The AI are also most of the time braindead. They'll just stand there while you shoot 500 galling lazer shots into them and don't run away or hide or anything. Sometimes they do buy most of the time they'll just keep attacking or stand there.

But now the positives! The game play, gunplay and combat feels soooo good and is so much fucking fun. The creatures and enemies were really creative and fun different varieties of them were also me to fight. I love the mutants in this game and all the animals. The quest team did not have to gocso hard bc damn almost all the quest lines were so enjoyable and fun to play through. I actually cared what I was doing with the npcs and who's side I would pick. Factions were normal fallout factions which were super fun and cool. I love the idea of events and getting to join like 25 other players lighting up a scortch beast queen. So so much fun. The crafting and modding was really good but was a pain in the ass knowing how many mods and plans that you just can't get bc they're all random which can be frustrating. Base building was usual fallout 4 clunky shit but lots of decorations although most of them you have to pay for which is discouraging and kinda fucking stupid. The Exploration and open world were really good and meets the usual fallout standard and lots of random funny encounters like 2 robots arguing in the middle of the street or encountering the creepy ass smiling man and being like wtf. The cryptids were really cool and it was fun to fight them all. The expeditions were alright. The Pitt was kinda shit ngl but Atlantic city I thought had really fun quests and expeditions. Team joining and doing stuff with friends was super cool. I launched a nuke solo which was super beat and then got to fight the final boss with like 15 other people which was a really cool unique expirence. Locations were all super unique and very fun to olay through I always found myself getting sidetracked by sosos many different quests and way points that It was kinda nice. For example I went to go find the brotherhood of steel and I found a bunker which was setting up a scorched detection method to save people so after that entire quest line I had npcs commenting what I did which was cool.or like how sometimes people are like "oh yeah and what authority do you have" and I could pick like 7 different options of like " I'm a fire breather, a night in the brotherhood of steel, I solved the plague in Appalachia, looted gold reserves from vault 91(I think) launched a nuke to kill the scorchquee , a soldier of the US army, a vault dweller. It's cool to see the game respond to your quests and actions through dialogue choices.

Another major complaint is the atom shop bc yikesss. The way that you have to pay for a SUPSCRIPTION to store your junk and ammo separately is so fucming scummy. If it weren't for this pay to win tactic and all the cosmetics you can buy it super dumb ans limits creativety and my attention. The game would prolly be a 9 or even 10 if it wasn't for microtranactions. Didn't buy anything and Bethesda needs to remove the goblins who think a subscription based service for cosmetics and junk and ammo needs to be removed.

I love the whole player based economy and how you can sell your stuff in vending machines to other players. Very immersive and o love that feeling when you see someone buying your stuff. Although creates issues with storage management which gets annoying very very fast.

I was addicted to this game for like 3 weeks tho lol. Just exploring, visiting so many cool unique locations, I did all the main and side quests and did all the daily quests a few times each. Super fucking fun alone or with lots of friends but the microtransactions are absolutely unforgivable. The endgame was also quote disaapointing. Really not much to do other than daily quests and events once you complete all the quest lines and those events and stuff get repetitive extremely fast . Wish there was more engaging and fun endgame content but i dont think they thought that far ahread lmao. Overall other than the issues I talked about this is still a really fun decent fallout game with lots to enjoy and explore!
