Epic Mickey, as a game, is good fun. Painting and/or thinning the world around you doesn’t ever get too complex, but the story and world are so intriguing that you’ll most likely be able to overlook the simple gameplay. Things do get a bit harder to swallow for those looking to complete the game, as it requires multiple playthroughs to do so (at least 3 supposedly), but even then, that’s far from a deal breaker.

Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, however, is one of the worst remasters I’ve played in quite some time. It doesn’t appear to matter what console you’re playing it on, there’s sputtering, crashes, and bugs aplenty across all versions. There’s even a game breaking bug that makes it UNBEATABLE, occurring right at the end of the game as well. I happened to encounter it during my play though, and spent half an hour replaying what I already had so as to avoid it. Truly disheartening to see what was otherwise a great game brought down by issues clearly wrought by crunch.

Solid Disney game and remake of a classic I barely played. I really appreciated the Disney touches and call outs to the park. The story is pretty good and explores a motif that isn’t really talked about in any other Disney media (at least for its time). I hope to see the sequels ported onto the new consoles as well. Visually this game looked great on XBSX

When people bring this game up they always talk about what it could’ve been. But if you look at it for what it is you might end up loving it as much as I do.

I wanted to play the og version for so many years so you can imagine my happiness when the rebrushed version was announced.

It is a fun game even tho very basic (and I hate Mickey but whatever) you just paint or you delete stuff...that's all. I got through two bosses. They were fun but ultimately it's always the same you either use paint or thinner on them and voila you won. I appreciate the variation of enemies. A lot of nowadays games could take notes and learn stuff.

Well now to the bad stuff: bugs...bugs, bugs, bugs...the subtitles during cutscenes are sometimes way too fast I dunno if people who have English as their first language manage it but I really don't (and I read fast believe me). The camera is occasionally really all over the place and makes some jumps very close to giving me a heart attack. The collectibles are meh (really???? Collecting pins???? Where all look the same except some of them are gold, others silver and some bronze???). Anyway...I could look past all this but...To progress the game I need sparks to get sparks I need to finish side quests and explore and stuff...to explore I need to get to different location than Mean street...but every single time I try my game crashes...so okay I bought the sparks after grinding for money for an hour...but guess what? Right the next quest is going back to the mean street/another place to get or buy stuff...and guess what? I once again can't leave the fricking mean street...which means I'm unable to finish the game no matter what I try to do...

I don't care how adorable the game is, how fun it might be...if you give me a game breaking bug it's automatically a bad game for me...hence the rating.
I'm around 5 or 6 hours in and I refuse to even look for the solution online, that's how pissed I am...

Ugh

This game may have at times made me feel as if I was heaped with too much ammo and not enough to use it on, at others as if it hadn't properly or at all communicated to me how to get past a given enemy or other obstacle, or further still as if it's settings could have been vastly improved upon for this port, but at once it was brimming with character and atmosphere that had me hooked from the start. I found myself committed to breezing through it's levels to see how it would all turn out, and then at the end, I appreciated that that final cutscene reminded me of how I had left friend and foe alike, showing that my choices, how I managed my time and what I felt like doing at each stage of the game, really did matter. Glad I played Epic Mickey Rebrushed.
