Summary

Dirt Rally 2.0 dares you to carve your way through a selection of iconic rally locations from across the globe, in the most powerful off-road vehicles ever made, knowing that the smallest mistake could end your stage.

Dirt is for all those who want a rally racing game .

The more you play , the more you see the problems with this game , having not many variations when it comes to online racing events and putting you as a console player against people playing on pc with racing sims .

Also when it comes to leaderboards, the game does not differenciates between someone racing with a bone stock car against people racing with full and maximized upgraded cars , and this is coming from someone that placed always between top 500 to top 100 world raking when it came to leaderboards.

I pity any child who saw this game and thought "yay a racing game!", and instead added another dust-collecting coaster and/or 20gb of regret added to their life. This game is hard as nails off the bat, with zero tutorial, confusing modes for anyone who doesn't know the technical terminology this game is full of, but, it IS a realistic rally sim. Any joy or fun to be beheld in the form of a quick & fun racing experience will not be a reality for anyone who experiences this happiness vacuum. While it's good at challenging experienced players, it will eat newbies to rally sims alive. One mode pits another unfortunate npc in the car with you, who won't cease to keep shouting random symbols and directions to you that look like math, Japanese, and various pasta shapes. It was so annoying that there's an option to turn him off. "Races" are a repetitive cycle of qualifying rounds that punish you for touching the gas too early and force you to run a mental gauntlet of the same torturous maps 4+ times without much reward. Joker maps (yes they're called that) make you feel like the game's joke, a jester, a clown for even attempting this sorrowful experience. This was given as a PS+ game a while back, which is equivalent of handing someone a basket full of rubics cubes with the stickers taken off and the hardest, most flavorless, hard candy known to mankind. If you're a fan of hard sims, a masochist, depressed, and want something to remind you about the cold hard facts of life, that you can't be anything you want to be, as a rotting flesh bag wanting to go fast in order to escape life's monotonous wheel of despair, play this game and then, only then, will you understand.

Good graphics, flawless execution for the genre but main events and garage requires online connection. Free play can be done anytime.

Amazing sim that's kind of a mode hardcore version of the mainline dirt series.

This is a good upgrade over the first in some ways and on others it's tracks aren't as good. Personally I enjoy it but do wish they had the license to use wrc stages.

Visuals are good enough and performance is good. Takes some tweaking to get it running perfect with various racing setups.

I use a fanatec setup and it took about 30 min to dial things in and it also needed some patches for FFB but eventually it was good enough and felt great with a high end wheel, a Logitech wheel and even a cheap wheel. Also feels good with controller but I wouldn't play using keyboard.
