Mirage done very well depicting golden age Baghdad.. stealth gameplay was very smooth and nostalgic. The story on the other hand was shallow and doesn’t connect to where Valhalla ended. Instead it only shares a mere flashback to Basim' early life! Mirage shouldn't have been a standalone entry to the series, rather a Valhalla' season pass expansion. Ubisoft is scamming again and is milking the series more than necessary.

Gameplay: 8 (stealth is back/the free running was kinda rough/combat, while difficult to get used to, was awesome once you got the hang of it. Lots of on emphasis on the parry (I ain't mad at it)) Story: 9 Characters: 10 Sounds: 10 Graphics: 10 (it's a gorgeous game, no major glitches. All except for a good two hours of my playthrough I had a throwing knife through the middle of right hand. Permanently. Was even there during cutscenes) Level design: 8 My opinion: 10 Device played on: XBox Series S Overall: 10/10 it's my favorite since Brotherhood. It had it's flaws, sure, but I got into Assassin's Creed 16 years ago, solely and purely for the stealth of it. Feeling like an absolute bad ass sneaking in and out of the shadows. This game delivered that with a return to the basics. I love the big bombastic AC games, don't get me wrong. This was all of that, but in a size that was manageable and not overwhelming. Assassin's Creed is BACK!

While Assassin's Creed Mirage was marketed as a return to form, it is only 1 step forward and still a few steps away from returning to it's former glory. After Valhalla lost any semblance of an AC game, it was really refreshing to play Mirage at first. Everything was back, from the classic cloak, to the condensed cities, parkour and emphasis on stealth. A lot of which I originally loved was here. But don't be fooled, this is not a new AC2, but rather an Arabian coat of AC Unity. Mirage feels like it tried to be the legendary game that AC2 was, but ends up having one of the most shallow stories in the series. Nothing here really grabs you, from the characters to the plot. The only thing Mirage has to offer is it's setting... which just feels like a fusion between AC1 and Origins. The gameplay itself could have used a bit more time in the oven. Combat is really stiff and janky, which is strange because Unity actually had great combat, and this game is somewhat modelled after unity in terms of gameplay and mission design. Assassinations don't feel as fluid as they used to be as the animations are stiff. Some things I must commend though is that this is surprisingly an unbuggy game at launch for a Ubisoft title. And being an Arab/Muslim myself, the representation and accuracy here is some of the best I've ever seen in a AAA title. I still enjoyed my time with this game as it was only 16 hours and didn't overstay it's welcome, and it was really nostalgic coming back to the old formula of AC, which I enjoy much more than the RPG formula. I only recommend this game if you want to scratch that classic AC gameplay itch, or if you're a hardcore AC fan.

Assassins Creed: Mirage is the most textbook Ubisoft game out there. The game offers an interesting story that is told in the worst way possible. In the 15 hours it took me to beat the main story, I only felt like about 3-4 hours of it actually matter. Everything else is filler that was thrown in to pad out the playtime. Ubisoft has been using quite the curious method of storytelling in their games these past years, in which you will have multiple chapters unlocked that can be completed in any order. This leads to many issues, such as an inconsistent story with uninteresting characters. The dialogue in these filler chapters even sounds like it was written by ChatGPT. There also isn‘t much substance to the gameplay. Stealth is the best aspect of the game due to the variety of options and tools you have at your disposal. The combat however, is embarrassingly bad to say the least. You only have one weapon-type with only a single attack pattern. This wouldn’t be a problem if combat was the last resort in a situation, but that is just not the case, because the broken parry system. The soundtrack is the only aspect of the game I have no problems with, I would even dare to say it‘s one of the best assembly of tracks in the franchise. Overall, I cannot recommend the game at full price in a year filled with many 9/10s such as this one. Wait for a sale

Assassin's Creed Mirage is an excellent entry to the series and has become my favourite game in the franchise. The return to basics is a breath of fresh air, the map is dense and feels alive, the story is fun and not overbearing in its size. Abbasid era Baghdad is a delight to explore and I couldn't get enough of it. If you enjoyed the older AC games, then do yourself a favor and give this one a go!

Good to be back to an AC game which focuses on the stealth mechanics. This is a game for the old AC fans. It feels like a refreshing change going back to the old ways. The streets of Baghdad are gorgeous and a joy to explore with its a compact but yet dense open world. It’s a beautiful game as well and this makes it a joy to explore. The story is a bit of a downfall which brings down the experience a bit. It doesn’t stand on its own and requires people to have played Valhalla. The supporting cast wasn’t too exciting which in turn didn’t keep the story exciting and interesting. Basim seems like an interesting character to dive into and I would love to see more of him in the future. This game feels like the right step in the right direction and I want to see how AC goes about their future. I would love to see a spin off series with Basim

Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s return to the stealthy style that launched this series doesn’t do everything right, but everything it does feels like it was done with purpose. This means a shorter game with a smaller map, fewer collectibles, smaller scope in combat, and a limited selection of gear to play with – all of which I found refreshing relative to the arguably bloated scale of 100-hour games like Odyssey and Valhalla. It also means an overly simplistic plot with mostly forgettable characters, but what the story lacks in depth it makes up for with its straightforward quest progression and fast pacing. Though there's no big standout “wow” moment, Baghdad is a beautiful location in its own right, and the world’s detail is focused inward, making every alley and hovel feel well traveled and full of detail and history. I’d recommend Mirage to anyone who’s lapsed on Assassin’s Creed, as its back-to-basics approach is a successful first step in returning the feeling that the earlier industry-defining games gave me so long ago.

This was a fun game and my favorite Assassin’s Creed game since Origins. Best part was the platforming across Baghdad - especially during guard chases which felt exhilarating. The combat was meh by design and the story was just okay (makes more sense if you’ve beaten Valhalla and remember the plot). Overall, a fun enough experience. Basim is a great character too imo

8.75 Completed in 28h at 85% (prolly I will spend 1-2 hours more in the future to achieve some collectables). The best of this game is Baghdad. Wonderfull and perfectly adapted to do parkour. The environment (npc's bugs included) created inside the city is credible. As Ubisoft mentioned, is an Assassin's Creeds 1, although after 3 "final bosses", you feel the repetition, and maybe you could be bored yourself. In my case, I enjoy completing the game in stealth mode, so I don't mind it. I don't want the Valhalla huge map, but maybe it would be really great to find more "special zones" outside Bagdag (a cave, old temple, castle from another epoque or places like that, obviously to achieve some special component). Ubisoft had the opportunity with the extra mission Alibaba and the 40 thiefs, but the cave was reeeeeally normal and the mission super boring (Ubi missed the opportunity). I played the full game in Performance mode. The 4k Graphics mode is broken :( I had a 2021 OLED gamma C with 120Hz and the delay between frames are continuous, a pity, because the game looks better with it).

A better AC game when compared with its previous installment (Valhalla). The game was advertised as a return to its origins and while it does not fully deliver to the promise it does feel more of an AC game. Although stealth is very much encouraged you can still force through some sections of the game without it. Stealth is well designed here and there are a variety of tools to help you do what a stealthy assassin does. Combat on the other hand felt a bit lack luster and lacked polishing. The story itself is somewhat generic but given it is not too long (probably around 20h or so) makes it enjoyable and not painful to sit through. Feels like it lacks some soul. The notoriety and pickpocketing mechanics are awesome and I had lots of fun messing up with half of the city. Parkour feels ok and is also very much encouraged. As the story was not too long I feel tempted to try and platinum it. Overall a solid 8 and above Valhalla for me!

I enjoyed myself a lot. The best stealth based AC game ever made. The gameplay is solid. Ubisoft just needs to work on a few animations and better animated faces and this could be a 10.
