Summary

The game from 2010 has been remastered for the PS4 with one of Yakuza 4's main protagonists, Masayoshi Tanimura, being recast and getting a visual makeover. Kamurocho, the entertainment district, is about to be bloodbath again. This time, we have four rising dragons. Each of the protagonists has a different fighting style and each of them has to go through sets of impossible trials to find their destiny. The line between game and reality is further blurred, earlier, in 2009, Sega hosts a beauty pageant, and the seven winners became models of their game avatars. Some of them are bar girls, some are hostesses, visit the "play spots" with them, ask them to date in the spas and sing karaoke with them. The Rising Dragon is looking for a successor, will you be it?

Well I'll be damned. After 5 games, thought my interest for Yakuza games would sink, but I was wrong. This was a dope sequel to third game.I like how game doesn't focus strictly on Kiryu this time, but there are 4 protagonists this time,Akiyama,Saejima,Tanimura and of course my boy Kiryu.Akiyama had the best combat moves IMO.Love his fast paced kicks and combos, heat actions were sick.Saejima got the best character development,Tanimura the most personal story out of 4,and Kiryu is...Being Kiryu I quess.I would even say that his Dragon Of Dojima style is the best one in any other Yakuza game,it's fluid, full of awesome heat actions and moves.Love it.Each character gets 4 chapters, then a grand finale which was amazing.Combat in a game is definetly better than 3rd one.Developers put so much effort in moves and I personaly respect it.Substories,I did a couple but again,I wasn't interested in doing them like I did in 0,Kiwami 1 and 2.That's a huge minus. The only one I enjoyed was Fighter Maker.Loved the whole training mechanics, your pupil becoming more strong, faster and technical, loved that shit.Yakuza games always manage to hook players into the world, story and interesting characters. My favorite moments are usually long battles where you can pretty much get used to the all moves and earn plenty of abilities.Skill trees were pretty good as well, the way your character becomes even more stronger, agile etc.Story was definetly the highlight. So many twists and turns to the poit it felt like I was watching spanish telenovela😂.Seriouly, death scenes in this game mean nothing, unless it's a clean headshot. That's where the whole rubber bullets meme became a thing. There are plenty of good moments in the game, loved the long battle theme material delights,it truly feels good beating the hell out of goons when it plays.Biggest complain for me was how much they devalued Majima.Bro the fact they didn't make him one of the protagonists was a robbery. He doesn't feel like Majima we know. How does a character goes from being a protagonist, fun stalker enemy to side character.I was even fine with Majima doing what he did in 3,but here they made him look like a bitch.Cmon man.I am really looking forward to fifth entry, ending felt so right, now it's about fixing Tojo Clan.Great game, worthy of playing again,I might make myself to the side content as well if I feel like it.

An incredible sequel in the long series of yakuza a major upgrade from blockkuza 3 combat featuring 4 protagonist with each having its own combat style
Story- The story is nice but the plot twists are cliche the character writing however is... just fine at its best some side stories could have been better,it's also faces diluted pacing and sometimes forces you to explore the town which in my opinion is not something to be forced
Gameplay- A huge improvement over yakuza 3 and the combat style of every character feels different and fresh the skill tree for each of them is also very nice it also features a character stories column which will give a character summary based upon your progress which is a very good change in my opinion

In short despite playing 5 games of this series(including 0) the series is still in the recommended section of mine

Terrible fighting mechanics are letting this game down and the great cast of characters. Akyiama is so cool and we need to see more!! Not many interesting side missions as well sadly. But still it's a Yakuza game and it's so much fun!!!

This is like 3 but better. Combat is better, music is better. I like this new character Akiyama a lot.
The first part was good, but damn, the beginning of part two and saejima is incredible. Loving where this is going!
All finished with part 2 and onto part 3. Everything is connected. Hoping for a good finale when I play through Kiyru's portion. Love the combat that each new character has, keeps it fresh.
The characterization of the four leads is really simple but effective. Tanimura is a cool character, but they dont try too hard to make you like him. He is just cool.
