Wario Land is a great follow-up to the already great Super Mario Land 2. The gameplay itself feels slower with Wario himself very much controlling like a slower heavier version of Mario. I feel this fits the Gameboy very well, because the tiny screen (that would often have a 'ghosting' efftect) does not combine that well with fast gameplay. New in this game are the hidden treasure collectibles which I found to be a joy to find. While the game feels closer to a Mario game than the later titles in this series, this first game should not be overlooked and is still a joy to play ~30 years later!
