It's not a bad game by any means. It has some fun skating, tricks and a couple fun maps. It can also be very fun at times when going for the high scores and when playing some of the more fun local splitscreen multiplayer modes. However, the Pro Skater series had never been my type of game to begin with (controversially, I always preferred the Underground style of Tony Hawk games) and besides for a few moments and good gameplay, this Remake hasn't changed that for me.
I don't know if it's because I feel there's no story to follow or because I feel the progression system doesn't really keep me engaged enough, but I never feel the need to go back to it.
I know this is just my preference issue. It is a fun arcade game to play with a friend, but it feels more like the side-content to a bigger game.
