Summary

Super Mario Kart is a racing game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and the first game of the Mario Kart series, as well as the game that sets precedents to the fictional kart racing genre. Part of this game is heavily based on Super Mario World in terms of graphics and overall theme. Using Mode 7 scaling, the first true kart game on the SNES has you collecting coins to boost your speed while using shells and bananas to stop others on the track.

I know it's the beginning of an era but, a racing game where turn braking is mandatory but you're actively penalized for doing it? YIKES! Great idea, bad game.

This was an incredibly frustrating experience, the controls are good though, and the tracks while repeating are still pretty fun, but man was this game hard to 100%

You can feel the impact Donkey Kong Country had on gaming culture by realizing Donkey Kong Jr never appeared in a mainline Mario Kart after this one

A game that change gaming forever, also known as Super Mario Kart is a perfect example of how good Nintendo could get, the idea of a Mario racing game is insane but it worked so well, and then the addition of battle mode was the cherry on top, the reason why this revolutionary game isn’t 10 stars is because I always hated seeing my little brother cry after I destroyed him in Mario kart, I did beat everyone in my family too, I still do to this day
