Summary

Silent Hill: Homecoming is the sixth installment in the Silent Hill survival horror series. The gameplay is the same as it's previous entries, where the player searches for objects and uses weapons to defend against grotesque monsters while solving puzzles to advance further into the game. In terms of combat, the player is able to perform light and heavy attacks or mix them to perform combinations. For the first time in the series, the player may select responses when engaging in dialogue with other characters encountered in the game, which in turn may affect how the player sees the plot unfold.

Don't get all the hate. Not at the level of the first three by any means and the gameplay is not RE4 but still much better than its reputation

PC version is Abysmal, the sound isn't downsampled into Stereo, so if using Windows there's a fix. I'm using Linux, so none is available but it plays better on there.

Silent Hill Homecoming is a game that Konami must have said "Make this a soft reboot, but don't get too close to the idea" as it contains story beats from Silent Hill 2 and 3 whilst misunderstanding why the games worked.

The main issue is the presence of the film, which the game has been modelled around both narratively and visually. The film has created lots of misunderstandings and misinterpretation of the series and how the town works.

Also Pyramid Head shows up and he really shouldn't as he's tied intrensically to 2. it makes no sense that he's there.

It's not bad and I could understand someone enjoying it if this is their first Silent Hill game, but just play any of the first four games and you'll understand why the series is so popular. With this one you'll be confused.
