Summary

Prince of Persia is an action-adventure and platforming video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. It is part of the Prince of Persia franchise. The game is set in ancient Persia, with a player-character whose name is not revealed in the game. He is accompanied by a woman named Elika, whom he met after a large sandstorm diverted him from his course and he ended up in a mysterious land. Players traverse many different environments using his acrobatic abilities to scale walls and even crawl on the ceilings. Throughout the journey, players combat various enemies as they attempt to cleanse the land of corruption.

As good as this game was, there was so much room for improvement. To start off with the good, this cel shaded art style is absolutely stunning. The world here is beautiful, especially when in the light. The story and lore is awesome here and they do a good job of sprinkling more as the game goes on. The best part is definitely the dynamic between Elika and the no name Prince. The evolution in their relationship is one of the best parts of the entire game. The best part though is the platforming. It does take a little bit of time to get used to the mechanics and the feel for the game, but once you do it is so fun to traverse this densely packed world. The amount of moves you can string together are amazing and they are animated incrediblely well and it really feels as if you're the one doing all these crazy stunts. The light seed hunting is also pretty fun, although it can get a little bit annoying when you're going crazy trying to find the last few you're missing in an area, but there is a nice satisfaction to finally finding them. Now to the bad parts. First off this isn't horrible more just annoying, but having to push L2 for every piece of dialogue is super annoying. It isn't mandatory, but it's how most of the lore and relationship between the Prince and Elika progress. Now what holds this game back from honestly being a 10 for me is the combat. It is so awful it's actually ridiculous. There is no rhyme or reason to it, it's tedious, annoying, hard, long, frustrating and any other bad adjective that exists. Thankfully it's not a majority of what this game is and offers, but it shows up enough that you're frustrating becomes noticeable, which really dampness you're experience. Now as bad as the combat is, it shouldn't deter you from what is otherwise a masterpiece of a game and art piece

One of the most underrated games of its generation. Gorgeous visuals, fluid movement and a story with a really interesting and engaging ending. was doing likeable invincible character escort missions way before the likes of Bioshock Infinite and The Last of Us. Combat is a bit crap though.

omg, what a headache.
this game was such a disaster on so many levels. first of all, PoP is not about walking on walls and climbing pillars. it's about reversing time and going back in time and this game was a miss in that part.
also, it became so repetitive after the first hour. but my problem is not with any of these. it's with this whole fighting system. it reminded me of Witcher 1 and it was so bad. but the character designs was decent and at least it was better than The Two Thrones

A low budget prince of persia game, with hilarious and glitchy graphics. The map is quite short and the overall game experience is not good at all. The story i liked and the ending was suspicious, but it never got its sequel so..
