Summary

Put the pedal to the metal in a vast interconnected environment. Race seamlessly across connected courses like never before. Participate in the new knockout tour elimination mode, where you’ll barrel through back-to-back courses and checkpoints. And in free roam, it’s possible to go off the racetrack and drive in any direction you wish, explore areas that pique your interest and take some photos at scenic spots with a group of friends.

I find it interesting how men been asking for Wario to have A phattie and Nintendo obliges and adds jiggle physics on top of it.

Yet these same men would call you gay if you play Rosalina or Peach🤷🏻‍♂️ Sum ain't adding up.

(Also fuck Bowser when I catch you it's on sight Cheeto looking ass bitch!)🤬

I've been holding off to review this one for a while now, as I have a mixed opinion with this new entry that takes a bit of a different approach to Mario Kart. Il break it down into two segments, what they did right and what needed more time in the oven 👨‍🍳.

Mario Kart World is like ordering a delicious steak 🥩 that's way too expensive 🤑 but it's the best steak you ever had. Even tho the steak was good, you feel like you got robbed. Like you didn’t get what was advertized. Maybe you expected the meat to be bigger? (don't look at me like that, you know what I mean 💀)

What this entry gets right is expanding on what already works. It expands on the series with new racing techniques such as grinding on rails and even wall riding, which gives the players more freedom to express themselves. As time passes, people have found crazy shortcuts which evoke the urge to try them out yourself and challenge your skills. The overall races have been designed so they fit this grand scheme of a concept Nintendo was going for. Making the tracks feel bigger and having to race the transitions inbetween them. I've heard people say it's a slog and it's boring to race these monotone transitions, but to me they felt seemless and that's the case because of the wider player range. There is so much shit going on and you're pretty much never safe from anyone, espacially not in first place.

We also got a new mode called Knockout Tour and I can confidently say this is the highlight of the game. The mode is a ton of fun, as you're basically in this battle royale and you have to make it past the required places or else you're out. This mode also takes longer than the Grand Prix races, which makes for longer racing sessions. I highly appreciate this as you can't allow yourself to lose focus, because you might potentially end up getting unintentionally combo'd on and even eliminated. (could never be me, totally not speaking from experience 👀😂)

I have to talk about the character roster, it is absolutely criminal and im devistated that I can't have outfits for Mr.Cow 🐮 or Mr.Penguin🐧like at least let them have a tanga or something cmon 🙄. Jokes aside, the outfits that are there are really dope and the way you get them is also a nice touch. There are smiley lunch bags scattered around the race tracks from masterchef Yoshi and when you eat what's inside, you get a new outfit from that area. I don't know what kind of substance makes you hallucinate that hard that you see yourself have different clothes on but Yoshi got that shit 😶‍🌫️. He might be a bit animal racist tho as there are little to no outfits for those characters, also he probably holds grudges against certain people as they don't have nearly enough outfits. I guess bro didn't have an uncle to tell him about great power and responsibilty 😭.

I've realized it in Super Mario Odyssey and now I've realized it here, Nintendo loves remixing their soundtrack and cooking up hits that sound just as good as the og versions. Not to mention the beautiful graphics that we can get now with the Switch 2, making it even more mesmorizing to look at while racing around. My favorite Grand Prix is definitely the special cup that consists of the best rainbow road by far. Magical and outstanding track, well done Nintendo 👏.

Alright enough glazing, it's time to tell yall why this game needed a better Chef. Someone should have sent Gordon Ramsey to help cook up this game. I had more ''WHERE'S THE LAMB SAUCE?!'' than ''FINALLY SOME GOOD FUCKING FOOD!'' moments 🤣.

Mario Kart World makes you FEEL like you're playing an entry grander in size, which doesn't mean it actually is as grand as advertized. They were yapping about how amazing the open world aspect is gonna be, but this shit feels like an afterthought even tho they advertized it as the main selling point 😭. They also try to hide it which is bizzare, you can only go into this ''Open World'' by pressing the free roam button which is shown on the bottom right corner of the screen. You would expect it to be a whole ass menu option as it should have been.

Here comes the best part tho, THERE IS LITTLE TO FUCK ALL TO DO IN THIS SO CALLED OPEN WORLD! Meaningless ass collectables you collect by doing a whopping total of 3 activities in the open world. Pushing down the P-switch for time trials, hitting question blocks and finding medallions for what you might ask? STICKERS! WHICH ARE ABSOLUTELY POINTLESS!!!

Besides Grand Prix, Knockout tour and your standard time trial mode, you got the battle mode. You better strap in because you ain't ready for what the battle mode offers........A WHOPPING 2 DIFFERENT BATTLES! COIN COLLECTING AND BALLOON POPPING! YAY!!! 😭😭😭 Seriously where is the variety Nintendo yall are taking the piss, do you want me to just play this mode for 5 minutes and never touch it ever again??? If that's the intention then hats off well done! You know what else is funny? When you boot up the game, smart steering is automatically turned on! WHICH MAKES IT NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO DO ANY SHORTCUTS, WHY. IS. IT. ON??? OH and also was it so hard to implement 200CC??? LET US RACE FASTERRRRRR FOR FUUUUU@#$%&!

.......So is it worth the price? FUCK NO. Is it still a good Mario Kart game? YES. 8.5/10

I’m changing my review after 3 days of playing the game, it’s still fun but so barebones for $80. Can’t believe they spent 8 years developing this game

The only mode that is keeping me going is knockout.

I’ve been waiting years to play a new Mario Kart game, and finally Nintendo has released a new one in the series with the switch 2!
First off, the visuals in this game is gorgeous, and the controls are solid. Also, you have 24 people racing versus 12, which leads to more chaos online!
The new Knockout mode is a fun and great new addition for both offline and online multiplayer. The new characters are also a plus, as well as picking new costumes. Glad they finally added Goomba!
Some things I would change on this game would be more customizations and more tracks. I feel for a game that is $80 that Nintendo boasts about that it is worth the money, I feel this game doesn’t add up to that. There are less tracks and cups, customizations on Karts are less, and you can’t even place your stickers on your cart you earned on multiplayer, only single player. The free roam feature is a great addition and I enjoy getting to explore the world on my own when taking a break from racing, but feel that Nintendo can add more to this, and add more events to do. Perhaps an addition of a story mode, or doing certain missions and meeting up with characters, racing against other characters, etc.
I can see Nintendo adding in a lot more features to this game along with more new characters, tracks, open world events, and hope they do in the near future!
Overall, I am highly enjoying playing this game, and the online play is excellent and fast, and easily see myself spending plenty of hours competing against others. I just don’t think this game justifies being $80.

Finally a new Mario Kart game. As much as I loved Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, there's only so many DLCs Nintendo can add before you want a new title.

Mario Kart World is full of fun, nostalgia and awesomeness. There's a lot of modes, but the key take away here. Is the ability to explore the open world map

Free roam, 24 player races, and more. I wasn't happy with the £75 price tag for the physical?! Luckily I got the Switch 2 Bundle where this game is included.

If anyone has got a Switch 2, have fun and enjoy! After beating the game I can easily say this is the best Mario Kart game to date.

Most of the games content is new. Which is nice to see, the Switch 2 has allowed Nintendos devs to utilise the power of the machine, and give us innovative changes.

While keeping the template if 'Mario Kart 8 Deluxe' the right choice. It refines the formula keeping it similar and fresh, making enough changes for a new title.

I've covered most of the main points so I'll talk about the last changes and newer
additions. Each race is beautifully designed, with additional race track area.

Played in 4K on an OLED TV. Such a beautiful experience, even handheld mode as well is levels ahead of the original Switch, better performance.

This is inbetween laps, if you've played you'll know what I mean. Returning courses have been revamped and visually overhauled, great refreshments.

Animations, graphics, soundtrack, have all been nicely improved over Mario Kart 8, and on top of that there are secrets, collectibles and more to unlock.

I'm not going to spoil that so I'll leave it at that... for completionists like me, there's a load of content here to play, and likely future DLC on the way.

For anyone complaining about the races being longer, and having additional race tracks inbetween the laps. Just stop, is that a valid criticism at all? NO

The game is called 'Mario Kart World' honestly. There's nothing presented that I didn't like, I had a lot of fun playing and will go for the 100% completion.

Final Verdict: I strongly recommend.
