One of the major drawbacks, however, is the imbalance in the gameplay. When lobbies are sparse and the competition is low, races can feel less exciting. On the other hand, when there are a lot of players, races can become overwhelmingly chaotic, which may take away from the thrill of the competition.
Considering F-Zero 99 is a free game with the Nintendo Switch Online subscription, it's more than enough to satisfy fans of the series and newcomers alike. Here's hoping Nintendo develops a brand new F-Zero game soon, as this one reignites the potential of the franchise.
From what I understand, it's the SNES F-Zero aesthetic with mechanics from X and GX. Game still rewards smart driving and adds new mechanics.
