Summary

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero takes the legendary gameplay of the Budokai Tenkaichi series and raises it to whole new levels. Make yours the destructive power of the strongest fighters ever to appear in Dragon Ball!

This would have had to have been my most anticipated game of the year after Tekken 8. I had way too many expectations after the disappointment I felt playing naruto storm connections and my anticipation for Bleach rebirth of souls. Budokai tenkaichi 2 is my favourite Dragon Ball game of all time so my expectations were BEYOND HIGH and omfg did this game Deliver ever so effortlessly. I've never been this shook about a dragon ball game in a minute actually an anime game in general.

Not only is it absolutely stunning graphics wise. It is just absolutely perfect for a veteran player such as me. The characters all feel unique in their own way. Sure that there are some that stand out however all characters are fun to use even filler characters than nobody gives a shit about. The potential this game has it is beyond godly. One of the largest rosters ever and not to mention THERE WILL BE MORE SEASON PASSES! so that's beyond amazing. This game is so grindy. And I love that it is. Although I did get early access and reached maxed level in like 6 hours, while also maxing out 5 characters. My main character to use Is Android 18 and Pan. They are beyond fun to use. There is also unique dialogue for the character interactions which I love.

The Story mode is great however some of the most challenging and nerve racking shit I've ever played. Sometimes it's so hard that you will need to repeat a lot just to meet that non visible time limit on time to unlock alternative storylines for all 8 Sagas, which can be infuriatings especially when you have to fight 3-4 people back to back. The animation for Summoning the dragons is also pretty stunning however I do wish they gave more options for the wishes. Also trophies are easier to collect.

I've been praising this game a lot but there are a few things holding it back. The time limit is the problem it doesn't show a countdown and sometimes the tasks aren't clear of what you need to do to unlock mini endings/roads. That should be fixed ASAP. Some controls aren't in the tutorial so you gotta figure out how the game mechanics work which is not good for a game that's as grindy and hard as this. There's a huge lack of iconic costumes for others as most costumes only belong to goku and vegeta.... there should have been some story modes for GT like can we stop erasing this show? Like it ain't as bad as the fans made it to be come on. There needs to be more arenas/maps and there should be more characters from og dragonball and GT.

Great game,

Only let down is the story mode and the way it plays sideshows, also missing important battles.

An excellent return to the Tenkaichi series mired only by some user interface decisions and frustrating multiplayer design.
