Summary

Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong and Cranky Kong return for the franchise’s debut on Nintendo Switch. This title includes all the fun and challenge of the original game, plus a new beginner-friendly mode that lets players enjoy this critically acclaimed adventure as groovy surfing simian Funky Kong. Funky Kong can double jump, hover, perform infinite rolls and even perform infinite underwater corkscrews. Thanks to his sturdy surfboard, even spikes can’t slow him down. The game launches for Nintendo Switch on May 4.

This game didn't really click with me until I played as Funky Kong. He does have a lot of hit points which make the levels *slightly* easier but his moveset is insanely fun to mess around with, especially when doing the time trials. Speaking of time trials, the game is so replayable. From the secrets and collectibles to the HARD mode, there is always a reason to come back. I'll probably replay this and Rayman Legends once every couple of years until the day I die.

Great 2D platformer. Especially for when it was initially released back in 2014. Its hard to believe new super mario bros U releases less than 2 yrs before this game and it seemed nintendo put so much more effort into this one. Relatively challenging game play (Harder than all mario games) Very cool povs and animations with very unique level design. Its up there with some of the best 2D platformers that nintendo has produced. Its not quite as good as super mario wonder. But its still a great title. This deserves an exact 9.0/10

Not my favorite game I won't lie, but I won't deny that it's a great game. It's a fun game that is built extremely well, and funky Kong is a nice addition. This is one that I absolutely have to revisit and will probably appreciate it more today than when I played it when I was younger

A blissful, tight and joyful platformer with beautiful visuals and foot tapping music. Each and every level is distinct with charm oozing out of every nook and cranny. While each different kong provides a fun variety and acts as its own power up, I couldn’t help but pick Dixie Kong every time to join me, her jump boost was too much fun to avoid. The first half of the game made this title a strong contender for a rating of 10, but a few inconsistent levels through the second half holds this back from being a timeless masterpiece. Challenging, but rewarding, with bosses that any platformer would be wise to take notes from, Tropical Freeze could just be my favourite 2D platformers of all time.

Fabulous graphics, amazing soundtrack and great gameplay.
One of the best 2D Platformers of all time
But that ending boss is a pain in the ass, too slow and the hitbox is broken
