A really fun, simple roguelite based around poker hands. It's fairly simple in that your main goal is always just to earn enough 'chips' to move forwards, but the variety comes in the Joker cards that offer countless bonuses and buffs, as well as your ability to upgrade the effectiveness of certain hands (and the connections between these two areas).

I have not done everything Balatro has to offer. I just beat the 8th ante, the effective boss of the game, with the final of the basic decks. That, to me, is enough time to warn about this game.
It's usually extremely rare for a game to hit that 10/10 mark for me so fast. Only a few others have. The Outer Wilds. Stray. A Link to the Past.
The fact that Balatro now sits at that level might either be because of how absurdly well thought out every little idea is in the game, or it might be because it's so god damn ADDICTIVE. I've learned I'm a fan of games whose entire thing is to just make number go up, but none have scratched that itch quite like Balatro.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that this game feels like it deserves an entry on the SCP wiki as a cognitohazard. I can't get it out of my head. Highly recommended, run away while you still can.
